Our exciting 10-day desert tour from Tangier to Marrakech starts with the pick-up service at the port/airport. If you arrive early, we will take you to visit some sites in Tangier such as Hercules caves, Cape Spartel, the American Legation, and the old Medina.
Your driver will meet you at your hotel to start the trip to Chefchaouen, the blue pearl of Morocco. You will get to see some beautiful views of the Rif Mountains on the way. Once we get there, you will have the chance to visit the Kasbah Museum, a huge building that shows Morocco’s long history. Also, you will get to see Ras El Ma waterfalls and the square of Outa Hemmam for a moment of relaxation. For a spectacular sunset, you can climb to the Spanish mosque. This 10-day desert tour from Tangier to Marrakech takes us to Fes, one of Morocco’s 4 imperial cities. In the morning, you will have more time to explore Chefchaouen and wander around its streets on your own.
After that, we will hit the road and make a stop at the Roman ruins of Volubilis. This ancient site has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997. In the past, about 20000 people lived there as it was an important spot for trading goods. We will end the day by taking you to your accommodation in Fes.
You can see more of Fes on the 4th day of our tour with the help of a local guide. First, we will see the Royal Palace with its beautiful gates. Next, we will move to The Mellah, the Jewish quarter. It has been in the city since 1438 and is one of the oldest in Morocco.
Following that, we will head to visit Chouara Tanneries which has been operating for nearly 1000 years. We will also pay a visit to Al Quaraouiyine Univeristy and Al Bouaanania Madrassa. We will end the guided trip by taking you to Borj Nord for a spectacular panoramic view of Fes.
Finally, we will take you to your accommodation to relax and get ready for the adventure to the desert the next day.
Our journey to Merzouga Desert starts in the morning at your accommodation. On our way there, we will make a stop in Ifrane to stroll around and visit the famous Atlas Lion Statue. Then, we will head to Azrou to see Barbary macaques and feed them.
We continue our way through the majestic High Atlas Mountains and make a stop at the stunning Ziz Valley. The latter is home to some Berber communities who lived there for centuries.
Before we get to the desert, we will take you to the city of Fossils for a quick visit. After an exciting day, we will arrive at our destination and take you to your hotel/riad.
After breakfast, we will start our 4WD tour through Merzouga to see some of the most interesting and beautiful sites in the area. We will start by visiting the Gnoua village and enjoy their unique music. Then we will keep going to Mfis mines to see where they used to extract Mascara and other substances.
After that, we will get to meet a nomadic Berber family, have a cup of tea, and discover their lifestyle.
After lunch at a local restaurant, we will take you to ride the camels to a luxury desert camp. You can make a stop on the way to the top of the dunes to enjoy the sunset. Once you get to the camp, you can try Sandboarding and enjoy a Berber music show at night.
Today is the 7th day of our 10-day desert tour from Tangier to Marrakech. You can get up early to watch the sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast, we will take the camels or the car back to the village.
Your driver will pick you up and take you to Rissani, which is known for its traditional souk. You can take a walk around and buy traditional items if you are interested.
After the souk visit, we will head to the spectacular Todra Gorges, which are famous for being an ideal place for hiking and rock climbing. Following that, we will head to Dades to see the well-known Monkey Toes rock formation and spend the night in a traditional riad.
Today, we will take the road of a thousand Kasbahs and enjoy the views on our way to Ouarzazate, the Cinema City of Morocco. We will make a stop there to have a panoramic view of Taourirt Kasbah and visit the Atlas Studios.
Afterward, we will go to Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987. Plenty of movies and series were shot there such as Game of Thrones, the Mummy, Gladiator, Lawrence of Arabia, and more.
As we make our way to Marrakech after lunch, we will stop at Tizi N Tichka Pass to take in the views. We can also include a visit to an Argan oil cooperative if you’re interested.
Today will be dedicated to discovering the most interesting sites in the red city of Marrakech. Your local guide will help you explore the gems of Marrakech such as Ben Youssef Koranic School, Bahia and El Badi Palaces, and the Saadian Tombs.
You will also have the chance to visit the famous Koutubia Mosque and walk around Jemma El Fna square which is home to different street performers including snake charmers, storytellers, acrobats, and more. At the end of the day, we will take you back to your accommodation.
