We will then travel along the Ziz Valley, stopping at the panoramic view of the palm groves. The journey continues to the Erg Chebbi dunes via Erfoud, known for its fossil discoveries. Upon arrival in Merzouga, meet a local camel guide and camels to take you on an hour-long trek across the dunes of Erg Chebbi. We might make a stop on the way to witness the beautiful sunset over the dunes. If we arrive early, you can watch it from the camp.
Check in your tent at the camp and get ready for a magical night. Start by having a delicious dinner to experience Moroccan desert cuisine. Then, head outside around the campfire to enjoy a Berber party with traditional music. Lastly, you have free time to climb the nearby sand dunes for stargazing.
The second day of the Errachidia to Merzouga desert tour will begin with breakfast in the desert camp. Then we will ride camels back to Merzouga town (you can choose a 4×4 instead). Next, we will explore the Merzouga desert by 4×4 vehicle, visiting the nomadic families near the Moroccan-Algerian border. Here, we will stop by one of the families to discover their lifestyle and how they survive in this harsh environment. Afterward, we will travel to the village of the Gnawa people, who were originally from sub-Saharan countries. You can enjoy Gnaoua music and learn about their unique lifestyle. As evening approaches, we’ll return to Errachidia, where we can either take you to the airport or your hotel.
