    The Ideal Marrakech 11-Day Tour Itinerary

    Day 1: Arrival in Marrakech

    Today marks the first day of our 11-day tour from Marrakech. Our driver will meet you at the airport and take you directly to your accommodation to relax and get ready to discover Marrakech. If you have enough time, we could take you to visit some sites in the Red City.

    Day 2: Marrakech Local Guided Tour

    After a relaxing first day, we are all set to dive into the wonders of Marrakech with a local guide. Our guided visit starts at the beautiful Bahia Palace. This place is the perfect example of the Moroccan architecture with its stunning details. Next, we head to the Saadian tombs, built in the 16th century by the Saadian rulers to bury their ancestors. 

    Afterward, we will move to the Madrassa of Ben Youssef which was once the largest Islamic college in the whole of North Africa. Nowadays, it is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the city. Then, we will go to wander around the lively souks. We will make sure also to explore the Mellah, the old Jewish quarter, which has its own unique story.

    Finally, we will take you to visit the peaceful Majorelle Garden founded by the French guy called Jacques Majorelle back in 1923. Free time to wander around the city on your own.

    Day 3: Marrakech - Casablanca - Rabat

    Today, we say goodbye to Marrakech as we drive through the highway to Casablanca. Our first stop there will be at the Hassan II Mosque. In fact, it is the only mosque in the whole country where non-Muslims are allowed to enter. Moreover, it is right by the Atlantic Ocean, so you get to enjoy some awesome views while visiting it.

    After the exciting visit to the mosque, we will take you to walk along the Corniche of Ain Diab. It is the perfect activity to relax and enjoy the atmosphere.

    Next, we will head to Rabat, a city full of history and beautiful sites. We will see the Oudayas Kasbah and then move to visit the Hassan Tower. The latter is a minaret of an incomplete mosque and an impressive landmark in the capital of Morocco. After that, we will stop by the Mausoleum of Mohamed V, which contains the tombs of the Moroccan king Mohammed V and his two sons. Feel free to have some time exploring and admiring the unique Moroccan architecture.

    After a day full of great stops, we will take you to your accommodation to relax and get ready for an exciting adventure to the blue city.

    Day 4: Rabat - Chefchaouen

    Today, we start the 4th day of the 11-day desert tour from Marrakech. We will take you on an exciting 4-hour drive through green fields to Chefchaouen, the blue city of Morocco. Once we are there, we check into your accommodation and get ready to explore the beautiful old Medina. After that, you can walk around Outa Hammam Square and admire the charming blue scenery.

    For a memorable sunset in Chefchaouen, go hiking to the Spanish mosque. It is a very calm area and offers a great panoramic view of the blue city.

    Day 5: Chefchaouen - Volubilis - Fes

    Day 5 starts with a tasty breakfast at your accommodation in Chefchaouen. The morning will be dedicated to exploring Chefchaouen more on your own.

    Next, we will drive through the charming town of Ouazan and along the stunning Rif Mountains. In a few hours, we will arrive at the Roman ruins of Volubilis, the capital of Mauritania Kingdom. This site is the true meaning of rich history. Here, you can have your time to walk around and visit.

    After having lunch, we will take you to the cultural city of Fes for the overnight. Relax and get ready for a day full of exploration and exciting sites.

    Day 6: Fes Guided Tour

    We will start our day after breakfast at your accommodation. We will have a guided tour of Fes which is known as the cultural capital of the country, to see its beautiful sights. First, we will start by going through the gate of Bab Boujloud, which is the main entrance to Fes el Bali, the old medina of Fes. Then, we will go for a walk to see the Madrassas of Al-Attarine and Bounania. After that, we will go to the University of al-Qarayuine, which is the world’s oldest and still functioning university.

    Next, we will head to the tanneries of Chouara, which are the biggest ones in the medina. Also, we will visit the king’s palace and drive to the Borj Nord to see the view from the top. Free evening to explore the old medina more if you are interested.

    Day 7: Fes - Ifrane - Cedar Forest - Merzouga - Camel Trekking - Camping

    Today, we will leave Fes and head to the charming town of Ifrane, which people often call the “little Moroccan Switzerland”. Here, you will have free time to walk by yourself and visit the famous Atlas Lion Statue. Afterward, we will stop by the Cedar Forest to see the Barbary macaques that live there. 

    Our trip takes us through the town of Midelt where we will stop to have lunch. Next, we will drive across the High Atlas Mountains and Errachidia to get to Ziz Valley. There, we will see lots of palm trees that offer great photography opportunities. However, the real highlight is waiting for us in the Merzouga desert. Get ready for a lovely camel ride across Erg Chebbi sand dunes at sunset time. 

    We will spend the night at a luxury desert camp. You will have a delicious dinner and then enjoy a great Berber music show under a sky full of stars.

    Day 8: Merzouga Desert Discovery Tour

    Today’s plan is full of fun activities as we drive into the heart of the Merzouga desert. 

    First of all, we will visit a peaceful desert oasis, and learn about the irrigation system and the different types of trees and plants there. After that, we will drive to visit the Nomads. These people live in simple black tents and take care of their cattle as a main income source. You will have the chance to sit with them and learn how they live each day in such a unique way.

    Next, our journey takes us to the old mines of Mfis. We will learn about their past and see where people used to work during the French colonization. Finally, we will make our way to Khamlia, a small town in the desert. There, we will learn about the amazing Gnaoua culture. The people there have a rich heritage and they love to share it through their unique music and stories. 

    Finally, we will drop you off at your hotel to relax by the swimming pool. in the evening you can try climbing the dunes or do other activities like Atvs.

    Day 9: Merzouga - Rissani - Todra Gorges - Dades Gorges

    Day 9 starts after breakfast at your desert riad. We will head to the town of Rissani. There, we will make a stop to explore its lively historic souk and have a walk around it.

    Next, we drive through the beautiful Berber villages of Mellab and Tinejdad. The journey gets even more exciting as we get to Todra Gorges. There, you will have free time to walk through the tall cliffs and enjoy the beautiful views of the grand canyons.

    We will end the day by taking you to have a look at the Monkey Toes formation in Boumalne Dades. Overnight stay at a local hotel in Dades Valley with dinner and breakfast.

    Day 10: Dades Gorges - Ouarzazate - Ait Benhaddou - Marrakech

    The 10th day of the 11-day desert tour is a drive back to Marrakech. As we leave the Dades Valley, we will pass by the beautiful Skoura oasis and the famous Roses Valley.  

    We will head to Ouarzazate, the cinema city of Morocco. There, we will stop for a panoramic view of Tourirt Kasbah and then head to visit the Atlas Studios. Next, we will continue our exciting trip and make a stop at the incredible Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou. This place is a great spot for filmmakers as it shows the Moroccan rich culture and the breathtaking architecture. 

    At the end of our day, we will drive through the High Atlas Mountains via the well-known Tizi N Tichka Pass. The views from there are just outstanding! We will make sure to stop at the Panoramic view of Tichka Pass at an altitude of 2260m. Finally, we will get to Marrakech and drop you off at your accommodation.  

    Day 11: Transfer to the Airport

    Today you say goodbye to Morocco as we take you to the airport for your flight departure. End of our 11-day desert tour from Marrakech.
