The 8-day tour from Tangier to Marrakech starts with the pickup service at the port or the airport. We will take you to your accommodation to relax. If you arrive early in the city, we will take you to see some places such as Hercules caves, Cape Spartel, and the American Legation Museum.
We will start the second day of the trip by going to the blue pearl of Chefchaouen in the Rif mountains.
The blue walls and houses of this city make it a great place for photography lovers. There are some amazing places that you can visit there including the Kasbah, Outa Hemmam, Ras El Ma waterfalls, and the Spanish Mosque. Free time to walk around the city on your own.
Today, will leave Chefchaouen, the blue pearl of Morocco, and continue our trip in the direction of Volubilis. We will go over the stunning and interesting roads of the Rif Mountains.
Once we get to our destination, you can take a walk around the Roman ruins and admire the spectacular buildings. This historic site of Volubilis was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1997.
After the visit, we will take you to the historical city of Fes to spend the night. A day of city exploration awaits the next day!
We are going to see the most interesting sites in Fes today. This city is known as the cultural center of Morocco and is one of the oldest in Africa. Fes has a rich history that can be seen in its old medina and its amazing old monuments. Because most attractions are in the narrow alleys of the old city, we will have a friendly guide to take us around.
We will visit a lot of sites including Bab Boujeloud, the Royal Palace with its 7 stunning gates, al Quaraouiyine University, Madrassa of Bounania, and Chouara tanneries. We will include also a visit to the Borj Nord for a great panoramic view of the whole city. Free time to explore more in the evening if you are interested.
From the cultural city of Fes, we will go through the Middle Atlas and visit Ifrane, which is known as the Switzerland of Morocco. There, you can take a walk to see the Atlas Lion statue. Next, we will go to Azrou, a Berber town famous for its cedar forest where you can see the wild Barbary macaques.
As we go deeper south, we will get to Midelt for a lunch break. We drive next across the Tizi N Tilghmet Pass and the Atlas Mountains and make a stop in Ziz Valley. The latter offers some stunning panoramic views of the palm trees.
At the end of the day, we will arrive in Merzouga, the highlight of our Morocco tour from Tangier. You will ride camels across the golden sand dunes of Erg Chebbi and spend a night in a desert camp under the stars accompanied by a Berber party.
On the 6th day of the 8-day desert tour from Tangier to Marrakech, you can get up early to see the beautiful sunrise next to the camp. You will have two options; you can either go back to the village by camels or by car.
Next, we will leave for Rissani where you can visit its traditional market. It is one of the biggest traditional souks in Morocco and offers a chance to interact with the local people and learn more about their traditions. We continue our way to Tinghir to visit the Todra Gorges, which are the highest canyons in Morocco. You can take a short walk to see more of the gorges near the running river.
Finally, we will transport you to Boumalne Dades to relax and spend the night at a local hotel/riad.
After breakfast at the accommodation, we will take the road of a thousand Kasbahs. We will go to Kelaat Mgouna, which is in the middle of the Valley of Roses, enjoy the views and take some nice pictures. After that, we will move to Ouarzazate to see the Kasbah of Taourirt and the Atlas Studios.
Later, we will head to the famous Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou. This place has been the setting for many popular Hollywood movies and TV series like Game of Thrones, Gladiator, and Lawerence of Arabia.
