We will make stops along the way to enjoy the views of the mountains. One of the main stops will be at an altitude of 2260 m. After having lunch on the way, we will head to explore the famous Atlas Studios in Ouarzazate, where many movies were filmed.
Afterward, we continue our journey from Marrakech towards Boumalne Dades, crossing the Valley of Roses and the Dades Gorges. Here, we will visit the unique monkey-toe mountains. Not to mention driving through the curvy road of Tissdrine. In Boumalne Dades, we’ll settle into our accommodations for the night. Both dinner and breakfast are included.
On the second day of your trip from Marrakech, you will be exploring and heading more to the southeast of Morocco. Firstly, we will drive again through the beautiful Dades Valley. The next destination is Todra Gorges. A charming place with canyons that reach around 300 m in height. You will have some free time to go inside the gorges for a hike, such a fabulous place with its running river.
After that, we will drive to Merzouga, the highlight of our trip. From here, our adventure across the Sahara desert begins! Get ready for some really fun stuff. We’ll meet our friendly camels and begin an exciting ride across the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi. You have around a 1-hour camel ride to reach the desert camp. Once you arrive there, you will be welcomed with a cup of tea. Relax and enjoy the views.
You can climb the nearby sand dunes to watch the sunset. Don’t forget to take the sandboard with you! As the night falls, a tasty traditional dinner will be waiting for you. After our visit to Rissani, we continue our journey, passing by Berber villages and ancient kasbahs along the way. We will make a stop by the Valley of Draa, the longest river in Morocco. Our final destination for the day is the city of Ouarzazate, often called “Moroccan Hollywood.” It was featured in numerous movies and TV series. This city isn’t just for travelers; it’s a famous hub for filmmakers. Many famous works, like parts of Gladiator, Game of Thrones, and Prison Break, have all been filmed here. Arriving at the hotel, we check in and spend the night in this city.
On the last day of the trip, we will head back to Marrakech. Before that, we will make some interesting stops on the way. Get ready to see an amazing old fortress called Ait-Ben-Haddou. It’s made of mudbrick and is super famous! You have time to explore and learn why it’s so special.
