The Ideal 7-Day Fes Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival In Fes

Our 7-day tour will start at the airport of Fes Sais. Our driver will be holding a card with your name written on it.

Depending on your arrival time, you could visit some sites in Fes.

Day 2: Fes Local Guided Tour

This morning, we are going to explore the city of Fes. Therefore, we will hire a local guide to show you the best things to see. The day begins at the Royal Palace, which is very fancy and has seven big golden gates. And then we will see Mellah, which used to be the Jewish neighborhood. We will then go to the pottery cooperatives.

Fes’s lovely old medina will also be on the list of things to do. We will go through the well-known Blue Gate, Bab Boujloud, and look around Al Karaouine University, one of the oldest schools in the world. Following our visit, we will go to Al Attarine Madrasa, the only madrasa in Morocco joined to a full-fledged mosque.

You will also visit Chouara Tannery and some other places. Finally, you will have time to walk around the Medina on your own.

Day 3: Fes - Ifrane - Cedar Forest - Merzouga - Camel Trekking - Camping

Today is the third day of our exciting trip to the Merzouga desert. Along the way, we will stop at some cool spots. The first stop is the pretty town of Ifrane, known for being clean and having a cool statue of an Atlas lion. Next, we will visit the Middle Atlas Cedar Forest, where friendly Barbary macaques live. Here, you can give food and take pictures with them.

We will continue our trip through the beautiful Ziz Valley, which has many palm trees and great places to take pictures. Upon arrival in Merzouga, you will ride the camels crossing the dunes of Erg Chebbi to the camp. There, you will go sandboarding, have dinner, enjoy the Berber music, and watch the stars at night up the dunes.

Day 4: Merzouga - Rissani - Todra Gorges - Dades Gorges

After breakfast at the camp, we are heading out of the desert. You will first stop in the historic town of Rissani, which is close to Erfoud. This is the city that gave rise to the Alouite dynasty. They presently govern Morocco as a family. It used to be a major trading location and currently has three market days. Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday are when the majority of the local population visits the market if you are lucky enough to be there during those days. You will have the opportunity to visit its hidden corners.

Afterward, we will hit the road to Todra passing by some Berber towns like Touroug, Tinjedad, and the Valley of Tinghir. Furthermore, you will have some free time to hike through the gorges and enjoy the views. Keep an eye on the Berber nomads and their herds that come to the area to take water for their tents.

Finally, we will drive to the Gorges of Dades where we will spend the night in a Moroccan hotel/riad.

Day 5: Dades Gorges - Ouarzazate - Ait Benhaddou - Marrakech

We will leave the hotel after breakfast and go to Ouarzazate, which is referred to as the “Hollywood of Morocco” due to its many filming locations.

Along the route, you will make a stop at the stunning Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, which is classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. An old fortress of mudbrick houses that have been featured in many films such as Game of Thrones, Gladiator, and Lawrence of Arabia. Here, you can enjoy strolling through the charming little streets and getting a fantastic overview of the whole region from the top of the Kasbah.

After lunch, we will drive across the Tizi Ntichka Pass and arrive in Marrakech. You will have opportunities to pause and take in the sights of the Atlas Mountains throughout the route.

Day 6: Marrakech Guided Tour

Prepare yourself to discover the fascinating city of Marrakech, popular as the “red city of Morocco,”.

A local guide will arrive at your lodging after breakfast to begin your city tour. Marrakech has a wealth of fascinating historical sites. Most of the tour will include walking as we explore the ancient city, just as in Fes. First, you take a stroll to Marrakech’s tallest mosque, the Koutoubia mosque, and discover its construction and history dating back to the 12th century. Next, you will enter Marrakech’s pulsing heart, the Jamaa El Fna square. Prepare to experience unusual sights, including the storytellers and the snake charmers, that will transport you back in time.

Additionally, you will go farther into Madina, passing by the vibrant marketplaces on your way to the Ben Youssef Madrassa. The plan will also include the Saadian tombs, and the El Badi and Bahia Palaces.

We are going to visit the Majorelle Garden later in the afternoon. At last, you have an evening free to spend exploring the city on your own.

Day 7: Transfer To the Airport

This would be the last day of our 7-day tour from Fes. We will take you to the airport to catch your flight.
