The Ideal 10-Day Marrakech Tour Itinerary

    Day 1: Arrival in Marrakech

Our 10-day tour from Marrakech starts when we pick you up at the RAK airport. We will take you to the hotel to rest after your flight and get ready for the trip. If you arrive in the morning, you will have time to see some of Marrakech’s attractions.

Day 2: Marrakech Local Guided Tour - Casablanca

After breakfast, you will go on a tour of Marrakech with a local guide to see its famous places. You will visit the Bahia Palace with its beautiful design that tells stories of the past. Then, you will explore the Saadian Tombs and feel the peacefulness of the Ben Youssef Quranic mosque.

Next, you will wander through the alleys of the traditional souk, where you can shop for unique items, or just enjoy the lively atmosphere. After lunch, you can go to the Jemaa El-Fna square to see local artists and musicians.

The Mosque of Koutoubia, which means “the booksellers” in Arabic, is the next stop you will explore. Following that, you will visit the Majorelle Garden, known for its bright flowers and bamboo woods. After the guided tour of Marrakech, we will drive to Casablanca, Morocco’s most important business city. You will spend the night there.

    Day 3: Casablanca - Rabat - Chefchaouen

We will start the day by visiting the Hassan II mosque, which has the second-tallest minaret in Africa and stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean. Afterward, you will drive to Chefchaouen and stop in Rabat to see its cool historic spots. To start with, you will visit Les Oudayas Kasbah, a fortress full of ancient stories. Next on our itinerary is the Hassan Tower, an unfinished but very pretty minaret that was part of a big incomplete mosque. It is an important structure in Rabat and a memory of the goals of the Almohad rule.

The forms of the Rif mountains will show you a different part of Morocco on your way from Rabat to Chefchaouen. It is recommended that you walk up to the Spanish mosque as soon as you get there to see the sunset and get a great view of the blue city.

    Day 4: Chefchaouen - Fes

You will have the morning to visit Chefchaouen; it is a small city that takes about 4 hours to see. Aside from enjoying the city’s blue streets, Chefchaouen offers a variety of sights worth visiting. To start with, you can go to the area of Outa Hammam, which is also called Plaza Uta El-Hammam and is the busy center of Chefchaouen’s Medina.

After that, for a breath of fresh mountain air and a chance to escape the lively crowds, head to Ras El Ma. This translates to “Head of the Water” and refers to a beautiful waterfall located just outside the city walls. Last but not least, go to the Kasbah Museum to learn more about Chefchaouen’s past and culture. The museum is located in the old castle (Kasbah) of Chefchaouen and gives visitors an interesting look at the area’s Berber history, and native clothes.

After seeing the lovely city of Chefchaouen in the morning, we will go to Fes in the afternoon via the Rif Mountains.

Day 5: Fes Local Guided Tour

After breakfast at the riad, we continue the 10-day tour from Marrakech. Today, we are going to explore the city of Fes. Therefore, we will book a local guide to show you its hidden gems. The day begins at the Royal Palace, which is very fancy and has seven big silver-golden gates. After that, you will have a walk through the Jewish area called Mellah.

Additionally, visiting Fes’s lovely old Medina will be one of the major attractions of the tour. We will go through the well-known blue gate, called Bab Boujloud, and discover Al Karaouine University, which is the oldest university in the world. The next place we will go is Al Attarine Madrasa, which is the only madrasa in Morocco that is joined to a full-fledged mosque. The Chouara Tannery, the Ceramic cooperatives, and the colorful markets are also part of the trip.

Finally, after the walking tour, we will drop you off at your Riad/hotel to relax. You will have a free evening to walk around the old city.

We will keep going through the High Atlas Mountains and stop at the stunning Ziz Valley, famous for thousands of dates palm trees, historic kasbahs, and the huge Tafilalet Oasis.

Later in the early evening, we will take you to the camp on camels, crossing the Erg Chebbi dunes to the camp. After dinner, you will be entertained by the Berbers playing drams and showing you where to experience stargazing.

    Day 7: Merzouga Discovery Tour

Our trip today will take us on a discovery tour of the Merzouga desert. First, we will go to visit the Morocco National 4×4 Auto Museum, which has a collection of off-road cars, some of which have been used by Morocco’s royal family.

Then we will go to Khamlia, a town near the middle of Merzouga that is famous for having a big Gnawa group.  The Gnawa people have made Khamlia’s society more interesting. Their music and instruments, like the Guenbri, are known for making beautiful rhythms. They will play music for you for a while before we move on to another place.

Next, we will go to Mifis, which is a center for kohl mining. Kohl is a makeup that is used in eylinning. After that, we will go to one of the Berber families. They take care of goats, sheep, and camels and live a simple life in tents.

Once the Merzouga desert tour is over, we will take you to relax at the Riad and spend the night there.

Day 8: Merzouga - Rissani - Todra Gorges - Dades Gorges

This would be the last day for you in the desert. After breakfast at the Riad, we will take the road to Dades Gorges. Along the way, you are going to visit Rissani, known for its rich history as a trading center on the Saharan route, its high-quality leather goods, and its busy souks.

The next stop is Todra Gorges. Massive rock walls form a cool canyon. Take a moment to enjoy walking through them. In the afternoon, we will take the road to Dades. We will stay there one night before going to Marrakech the next day.

Day 9: Dades Gorges - Ouarzazate - Ait Benhaddou - Marrakech

The next stop is Ouarzazate, also called the “Little Hollywood of Africa,”. There, we will see the Atlas Studios where great scenes from famous movies were made.

Next, we will go to Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a very old site that has been protected by UNESCO since 1987. Scenes from films and TV shows like “Lawrence of Arabia” and “Game of Thrones” were filmed here.

We will go over the Tizi N’tichka pass in the afternoon and stop along the way to enjoy the views of the Atlas mountains. Overnight in Marrakech.

Day 10: Transfer to the Airport

“We did the Marrakech to Marrakech 10-day desert tour with the wonderful guide Hassan and we had the best time! Hassan is a knowledgeable and fun person, we truly enjoyed his company and the many places he drove us to! My boyfriend proposed on the trip and Hassan even bought us a cake as a surprise to celebrate! The tour is very well organized, with stops every couple of hours, the night in the desert was just magical (bring very warm clothes if you go in the winter) and you get to experience a different Morocco! Above all, highly recommended agency! Thank you for everything!”
