    Our 14-day Morocco desert tour from Tangier is your way to discover the most beautiful sites in the country! First, the trip starts in Tangier and takes us to the blue city of Morocco, Chefchaouen.

    Next, the journey continues to Fes across the stunning Roman ruins of Volubilis. After that, we will go south towards the desert driving across the town of Ifrane, the Cedar forest, and the majestic High Atlas Mountains.

    The desert adventure promises to be a lifetime experience. You will not only ride the camels and spend the night at a desert camp but also visit the most interesting places in the area.

    The journey back to Tangier takes us through so many interesting places. We will travel through Todra Gorges, Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, Marrakech, Ouzoud waterfalls, Essaouira, Casablanca, and Rabat. The tour ends in Tangier with a drop-off service at the airport or port for your flight departure.

    The Ideal 14-Day Tangier Tour Itinerary

    Day 1: Arrival in Tangier

    Our 14-day desert tour kicks off with your arrival at Tangier port/airport. If you arrive early, you can have a walk in the old medina and enjoy the sea views.

    Day 2: Tangier - Chefchaouen

    On our second day, we will head to the beautiful city of Chefchaouen, the blue pearl of Morocco. First up, we will visit Ras El Ma waterfalls. The sound of the water and the calmness of the place are perfect for a moment of relaxation. Next, we will wander around the lively Outa El Hammam square. The latter is the heart of the town, filled with history and culture.

    After that, we will visit the Kasbah Museum. This is the first building of Chefchaouen and the best place for history lovers. Walking through the blue-painted houses of Chefchaouen is a must for photography and hiking lovers. finally, you can end the day by climbing up to the Spanish Mosque for a beautiful sunset.

    Day 3: Chefchaouen - Volubilis - Meknes - Fes

    After breakfast, you will have more time to explore Chefchaouen and admire the blue scenery that it offers.

    We will leave Chefchaouen towards the cultural city of Morocco, Fes. First, on our way, we will make a stop at the fascinating Roman ruins of Volubilis. This historical site was once the capital of the Kingdom of Muretania and had a population of around 20.000.

    After having a walk inside and admiring the beautiful columns and mosaics, we will travel to Fes through Meknes. We will take you to your accommodation in the old Medina. Relax and get ready for the excitement on the next day as we take on a guided tour of the city.

    Day 4: Fes Local Guided Tour

    Today is full of excitement and history as we take you on a guided tour around Fes, one of Morocco’s imperial cities. Our first stop will be at Al Qaraouiyine University. This place is the oldest university in the world that is still functioning. Next, we will head to the Madrassa of Bou Inania which is a landmark of the city with its unique design and beautiful architecture.

    After that, we will walk to the Najjarin Fountain, a famous spot built by the Sultan Abd-Rahman in the 19th century. With its beautiful Zellige and design, it is a popular place for photography lovers. To end our exciting visit, we will take you to Borj Nord for a stunning panoramic view of the whole city. Moreover, we will visit other places and attractions like the Chaoura Tanneries and the Royal Palace main entrance.

    Finally, we will drop you off at your accommodation to relax. Free evening to  explore the city on your own.

    Day 5: Fes - Ifrane - Ziz Valley - Merzouga - Camel Trekking - Camping

    We will start the 5th day of the 14-day Morocco tour from Tangier in the early morning heading straight to Ifrane. This lovely European-style town is the perfect place for a refreshing walk. It is home to the well-known Atlas Lion Statue, carved by a German prisoner during World War II.

    Next, we will drive to explore the Cedar Forest, home to the Barbary monkeys. You can feed them and snap some nice pictures.  Then, we will drive through the stunning Ziz Valley which is full of palm trees. The views from the top of the valley are just amazing. 

    Finally, right before sunset time, we will get to the Merzouga Desert. We will take you on camels across the dunes towards the desert camp. A magical night awaits beneath the starry sky. 

    Day 6: Merzouga Desert Tour

    Today is another exciting adventure as we go deeper into the Merzouga Desert. First, we will start our day at the Hassi Labied Oasis. There, we will have a walk and learn about the irrigation system in the area.

    After that, we will move to meet a nomadic family on the other side of the desert. We will learn about their traditions and the way they survive in such hard conditions. Then, we will head over to Mfis mines and learn more about the minerals and substances that people used to extract during the French colonization of the country.

    We will end our desert adventure by taking you to the village of Khamlia. The inhabitants of this place are originally from Mali, Sudan, and other Sub-Saharan countries. You will get to learn their history and enjoy their unique Gnaoua music. 

    Finally, we will drive to your hotel/riad in the desert to relax. In the evening, you can try some activities like climbing the dunes, sandboarding, or ATVs.

    Day 7: Merzouga - Rissani - Todra Gorges - Dades Gorges

    After a fantastic time in Merzouga, we will head to Rissani to visit its busy markets. There, we will learn about the local culture and stroll around the souk (market). This place was once a favorite for traders on the old Saharan routes and hosts one of the biggest traditional markets in Morocco.

    Next, we will make our way to the stunning Todra Gorges. With its massive canyon walls that are about 400 meters high, this place is the perfect spot to take a break and enjoy the refreshing vibes. Moreover, you will have free time to walk around and take in the stunning views.

    At the end of the day, we will take you to the Dades Valley to spend the night at one of the local accommodations.

    Day 8: Dades Gorges - Ouarzazate - Ait Benhaddou - Marrakech

    Today, we leave Dades Gorges and head towards the exciting city of Marrakech. But first, we will make a couple of interesting stops on the way. Our first destination will be Ouarzazate, the cinema city of Morocco. We will take you to visit the Atlas Studios, where so many movie scenes were filmed.

    Next, we will travel to visit the amazing Ait Benhaddou Kasbah. This place is the perfect example of the old Moroccan architecture and design. There, you will have free time to stroll around and admire the houses made of mud.

    After the exciting visit to Ait Benhaddou, we will drive through the amazing High Atlas Mountains. The curving road and the stunning views make this place one of a kind. We will stop for a moment of relaxation and then continue to Marrakech for the overnight.

    Day 9: Marrakech Guided Tour

    The 9th day of our exciting 14-day desert tour from Tangier is a guided tour of Marrakech. We will visit the most beautiful sites of the city and learn about its rich history.

    First of all, we will visit El Badi Palace. Built in the 16th century, this ruined palace is a popular tourist destination with its unique design and rich history. Next, we will head to see the Bahia Palace which was built in the 19th century by Si Mousa. It represents a mix of the Islamic and the Moorish architecture.

    After that, we will make our way to the Saadian tombs. There, you will see some beautiful tile work that has been around for a long time. It’s something unique! Then, we will move to the grand Koutoubia Mosque to learn about its history and admire its design from the outside.

    Day 10: Marrakech - Ouzoud Waterfalls - Marrakech

    Today, we will take you on a day trip to the stunning Ouzoud Waterfalls. This place is the perfect spot to relax and escape the bustling city of Marrakech. Ouzoud is famous for its beautiful waterfalls, making it a famous tourist destination in Morocco. As we get there, you will have the chance to walk around and hike the falls at your own pace.

    After an incredible day at the falls, we will take you back to Marrakech to spend the night and get ready for another adventure on the next day.

    Day 11: Marrakech - Essaouira

    Today, we will leave Marrakech towards the coastal city of Essaouira. On our way, we will pass through Chichaoua, known for its unique Argan trees. 

    In Essaouira, you will get to walk around its unique old Medina and visit Sqala Du Port, a unique and historical fortification built by the Sultan Mohammed Ben Abdellah in the 18th century.     Day 12: Essaouira - Casablanca - Rabat

    Today, we say goodbye to the calm vibes of Essaouira and head to Casablanca. There, we will visit the impressive Hassan II Mosque. This place is just amazing as it is located partly on the ocean. It is the 2nd largest mosque in Africa with a total capacity of 105,000 worshippers.

    After admiring the architecture and the design of the mosque, we will head to Rabat, the capital city of Morocco. We will spend the night there and get ready for another exciting journey on the next day.

    Day 13: Rabat - Asilah - Tangier

    Today, we will start our journey in Rabat by checking out its historical places. First of all, we will visit the Hassan Tower, a huge and impressive landmark in the capital. This place is a minaret of an uncompleted mosque commissioned by Sultan Yaqub El Mansur.

    Next to the tower is the Mausoleum of Mohammed V where the tombs of the king and his sons are located. After that, we will head to visit Les Odayas Kasbah, a lively area that was once a military base that served to defend the city from potential attacks.

    After a fun day in Rabat, we will head to Tangier across the coastal gem of Asilah. Once we are there, we will take you to visit the Hercules caves, Cape Spartel, and the American Legation museum in the old city.

    Day 14: Transfer to the Airport/Port
