Today, we’ll continue our 7-day desert tour from Marrakech towards the southeast of Morocco. First, we’ll tackle the Tizi N’Tichka Pass, a thrilling drive through the beautiful High Atlas Mountains. Keep your eyes wide open for old kasbahs (fortresses) and charming Berber villages scattered throughout the area. These villages used to be lively spots along trade routes until the early 20th century, and their history makes this place even more interesting.
As we drive, the scenery will change a lot. We’re heading to Tinghir and Todra Gorges, a valley full of green palm trees. We will start the day by visiting the Royal Palace entrance, the biggest in Morocco. Then have a short walk through the Jewish quarter or the Mellah. After that, we will take the car and drive to the south Borj for the panoramic view. Here the guide will explain the plan and point out the path that you will be taking.
The old Madina goes back to the 9th century. With that in mind, it is considered the oldest capital of Morocco where people still live. In general, you will be visiting interesting places like Al-Karaouine University. It was built in 859 and now it is considered one of the oldest in the world.
