Our amazing 4-day tour from Tangier to Marrakech across the Merzouga Desert will take us to Fes on the first day. On our way, we will take you to visit Chefchaouen, also known as the blue pearl of Morocco. There, you can visit the Kasbah, square Wetat Lehmam, and Ras El Ma waterfalls. Afterward, we will drive to Fes to spend the night and get ready for the journey to the desert on the next day.
After a healthy breakfast today, we’ll take you on an exciting trip through the High and Middle Atlas Mountains to get to our favorite place, Merzouga in the Sahara desert.
On our way, we will go to Ifrane. There, you will have the chance to walk around and visit the Atlas Lion Statue. Next, we will visit the Barbary macaques in the cedar forest of Azrou.
As we get to Merzouga Desert, we will take the famous camel ride through the sand dunes of Erg Chebbi. On our way to the desert camp, you can make a stop to enjoy a spectacular sunset over the sand dunes. After dinner and a Berber music show, you can climb the dunes to admire the starry sky.
On the third day of our 4-day desert tour from Tangier to Marrakech, we will take you on a journey to Boumalne Dades. Before that, it is advisable to wake up early in the morning to witness an amazing sunrise on top of the dunes.
We will take the camels or the car back to Merzouga town. From there, we’ll drive to Rissani, which is where the Alaouite family of Morocco comes from. We will go next to Todra Gorges and the Dades Valley. We will stay the night in a traditional riad.
First, we will pass through the Valley of the Roses on the last day of the tour. Once we get to Ouarzazate, we will visit the famous Kasbah of Taourirt.
Then, we continue our way and reach the Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, which is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is famous for being the setting for famous movies and TV shows like Gladiator, Game of Thrones, and Lawerence of Arabia.
We will take the road through the Tizi N-Tichka pass and the beautiful High Atlas Mountains and stop for some stunning panoramic views. Finally, we reach Marrakech and that marks the end of our 4-day desert tour from Tangier to Marrakech.
