The 3-day desert tour from Essaouira starts by picking you up from your hotel/riad. Our driver will pick you up from your hotel at 8 am. We will take you on a journey through the Atlas Mountains via the Tizi N Tichka Pass, where you will make different stops to admire the views. The main stop our driver will make is at the altitude of 2260 m, where you can stretch a leg and take some pictures.
Our next destination is Ait Benhaddou, which has been recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987. Here, you will have enough time to see this historic Kasbah walking. Many movies and television series, including Gladiator and Game of Thrones, have featured this historical location.
Our last destination of the day is Ouarzazate. Before we take you to the hotel, we will take you to visit one of the Atlas studios where some movies were made.
Our journey continues via the Oasis of Skoura and the Rose Valley using the route known as the Thousand Kasbahs. After about two hours of driving, you will arrive in Todra Gorges, famous for its dramatic cliffs, carved by the Todra River. Towering over 400 meters high, the gorge is a rock climber’s paradise with numerous routes.
We will get to Merzouga, a beautiful town in the area of golden dunes. Next, you will take the camels across these dunes to the desert camp, which is your last stop for the day. At the camp, you will have dinner and enjoy a Berber drums party under the stars.
We suggest that you get up early on the last day of our 3-day tour from Essaouira to see the beautiful sunrise. After breakfast and a shower at the camp, we will take the road back to Marrakech. Along the way, you will make a quick stop at the Daraa Valley, and at some small views. Drop off in Marrakech.
