Here, you will have free time to walk around the city. It is a small city that can be visited in 3 to 4 hours.

To start, we will drop you off at your accommodation. From there you can go deeper into the blue city visiting its main attractions. In general, the city itself is an attraction to visit. So wander around to find hidden corners. For the sunset, we recommend hiking up to the Spanish mosque for the sunset and the panoramic view of the whole city. After that, you can head to the lively Utat Lhmam Square, watch the street performers, and have dinner.

    Day 2: Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Meknes – Fes

Start your day with a tasty breakfast in Chefchaouen. You can have a short walk around the city in the morning as the city usually gets less busy at this time. Afterward, we will start a tour journey towards Fes. However, before that, we are going to visit some interesting attractions.

First, we will arrive in Volubilis, the Roman ruins in Morocco. Take your time to wander inside and visit the different sites. Next, we travel to Meknes, one of the imperial cities in the country. We can have lunch first, then start exploring the area. We will visit the Lhdim square and Bab Mansour. Both places are not far from each other, so you can visit them on foot.

Afterwards, we will drive to the Qara prison. It is an underground prison that is made in the form of a maze. Furthermore, we are going to visit Lheri Souani, a massive granary and stable complex. Closer to it, you will see the unique lake of Lhri Souani.

Finally, we will hit the road towards Fes, and drop you off at your accommodation.

    Day 3: Fes discovery tour

The third day of our 6-day tour from Tetouan is about discovering Fes. One of the imperial cities that dates back to the 9th century. Most of the attractions are in the old city and the car can not go inside. Therefore, we will have a friendly local guide who will show us around.

We will divide the tour into two parts, one by car and the other by walking with a guide. To start with, we will take the car and head to the Royal Palace to see its main entrance with the beautiful seven silver gates. Not far from this latter, we will have a walk through the Mellah or the Jewish quarter. Learn more about this neighborhood that reflects the rich history of the city.

Moving on with our local guide, we will head to the fortress of Borj North. Enjoy the Panoramic views of the old city while enriching your knowledge.

Next is the other part of the tour to discover the old city. It is done by walking with the guide through the narrow streets of the Madina which is listed as a Unesco World Heritage Site. Here, you are going to explore interesting attractions like the University of al-Qarawiyyin, one of the oldest in the world.

Furthermore, you are going to visit other attractions like the tanneries where they dye leather, the Attarine and Bou Inania Madrasas, and the Mausoleum of Idriss II.

Finally, we finish the trip by dropping you off at your accommodation. Free evening in Fes to explore by yourself. We recommend heading to the Blue Gate for a charming evening!

Day 4: Fes – Ifrane – Cedar forest – Merzouga desert – Camel trekking – Camping

After breakfast in Fes, we start our journey towards the desert. First, we will drive through the Middle Atlas Mountains to Ifrane. This city is the cleanest in Africa and is usually called the little Switzerland of Morocco. We will have a short walk around the place to get some fresh air and stretch a leg.

Next, we will cross the cedar forest where we will stop by the wild Barbary Macaques. Feel free to feed them, they are super friendly and used to people. We continue our journey across the Atlas mountains passing by cities like Zaida and Midelt.

Afterward, we reach the beautiful Ziz Valley with its canyon full of palm trees. Take in the beautiful sceneries with a panoramic stop before heading to Erfoud. This latter is a popular fossil destination. Furthermore, if you are interested, we can pay a visit to one of the factories to learn about the different fossils they discovered in the area.

Finally, we will arrive in Merzouga where our desert adventure starts. We begin with a camel ride through the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi towards the desert camp. Once we arrive, you can check in and take the sandboard to the nearby dunes. Enjoy the sunset while sliding the dunes. We end the day with a delicious dinner followed by a campfire and a Berber party.

Wake up early to witness the unique sunrise over the dunes. Then, head back to the camp for breakfast. After that, you can choose if you want to return with the camels back to the village or take the 4×4 instead.
